INFO ABOUT THE TOBACCO COMMUNITY:
Southwest Wisconsin was a major grower of tobacco from 1800s on to very recently. For most of its life, this building housed the Viroqua Leaf Tobacco Company, where countless tons of tobacco were processed.
We are always interested in hearing stories of the old tobacco community, and will be setting up an event in the spring of 2016 to share these stories.
